Washington Insider is a three-story, single-family vacation home in northeastern Seaside. Its west façade is transparent: each story features three floor-to-ceiling windows or doors, and the first two stories are covered by generous eight-foot-deep porches. Its character is southern vernacular, inspired by other homes in Seaside.
Washington Insider was designed as a forum for recreation and entertainment. On the first story, the great room features a full-sized grand piano and two entrances to the octagonal cortile. A grand staircase leads to the second floor, which contains two bedroom suites, one bunk room, and a generous master suite. The third floor is devoted to recreation. Besides two more bedroom suites, it has a large billiard room, a library and study, and a full-service bar with an Irish snug. Each story has access to at least one of the home's five porches.
